Holy Plastic! The first month of the plastic recycling challenge had great success, 560 pounds of plastic film was collect in December. Thank you to our local businesses who are helping us with our recycling challenge. Four months to go. Please stop at any of the school buildings to drop off plastic film. #bloomerhawks

We have a stem group that tried solar ovens 4th graders have been problem solving with solar power. The students made their own "solar ovens" and tried them out on the first sunny day in a while. With the outside temperature at 9 degrees above zero, some groups were able to make the chocolate melt on their smores.

The Bloomer School District is participating in the Trex Company and Charter Next Generation’s Film Recycle Challenge from December 1, 2022, through April 22, 2023. Through the challenge, our district can win a variety of prizes, including a cash prize of $5,000. Qualifying film plastic recyclables (shown below) can be dropped off in the bins located outside EACH of the school offices. Kelsey Zwiefelhofer of Catalytic Combustion Corporation is shown presenting a check for $1000 to Malia Clements, Bloomer High School School Counselor, for the "T-shirts for All" fund. Mrs. Clements is raising money to provide all students in the school district of Bloomer with a Bloomer Blackhawk t-shirt.
