25 bags of Lettuce going to the Food Pantry! Mrs. Haas' Intro to Horticulture course is partnered with Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC) through a transcripted credit relationship, which allows students to earn college credit for their work in the course. This partnership helps students gain both foundational horticultural knowledge and hands-on experience, while also getting a head start on their college education. The course focuses on practical skills related to plant growth and care, including techniques such as hydroponics, which students use to grow food for the local food pantry each month. This aspect of the course not only helps students develop their technical abilities but also highlights the value of local food production. Growing food in your community is a powerful way to address food insecurity, promote sustainability, and encourage people to connect with the source of their food.
