Happy National Kindergarten Day!
Yesterday, April 21 was National Kindergarten Day! Did you know the first kindergarten in the United States was started in Watertown, Wisconsin?
It opened in 1856 by Margarethe Meyer Schurz. It was based on her experiences in Germany with educator Friedrich Froebel.
Kindergarten is a German word meaning “a garden where children grow.”

Members of the Middle School Student Council attended the WASC Leadership State Conference in Madison.
We got a personal tour of the state capital and got to have lunch in Senator Rob Summerfield's office. We had a wonderful time. @Representative Rob Summerfield
