"I would like to nominate Malia Clements for the Golden Talon this week. I work closely with Malia while planning our AODA events, including our upcoming Wellness Day, as well as coordinating speakers and activities that support students in making healthy decisions.
In addition to her counseling responsibilities, Malia organizes numerous activities and fundraisers for both students and staff. She is a positive, caring presence in our school and consistently puts students’ best interests first. Thank you for all that you do, Malia! "

BES S.P.A.R.K.S. Student Council is proud to recognize the January recipients of the Kind Hero Award! 🤗
Mrs. Rachael Pintens is a bus driver for our District and has been an amazing support to all students! At the end of each school day, Rachael is standing outside her bus warmly welcoming her riders and greeting former students with waves and hugs. She is always smiling and does a great job communicating wonderfully with both teachers and parents. Rachael makes new students feel welcome and builds meaningful connections with everyone from our 4K students to our High Schoolers. She truly brings a smile to every student's face and is a true Kind Hero!
In recognition of his hard work, flexibility, determination and helpfulness that goes far beyond his job description, Mr. Ken Chantelois is deserving of being a Kind Hero! Being a substitute custodian often means navigating different environments daily. He has seamlessly integrated into our school community with a warm, cheerful attitude that lifts the spirits of everyone around him. Ken goes above and beyond every day to make sure BES is clean and welcoming before the school/work day even starts. This continued effort is noticeable throughout the day as Ken works efficiently to assist staff and students. His selfless commitment and positivity make him a true role model in our school. His actions have a significant impact each day and make BES a kinder, more welcoming place!
Thank you Mrs. Pintens and Mr. Chantelois for ALL you do to create kindness and make a positive impact! #blackhawkstrong #bloomerhawks #kindhero #beablackhawk #helpallwithkindness #togetherwesoar

The entire day was spent preparing high-level pieces with around four hundred middle school students from around Wisconsin.
The students put on a beautiful performance that evening for family and friends.

'I would like to nominate Alyson Zwiefelhofer this week for the Golden Talon Award. Although we do not work together every day, she has made an impact (probably without even realizing it) as I have transitioned into my new role as the school nurse. She had been exceptionally helpful in just jumping in to help teach our CPR class at the beginning of the year. She also has consistently assisted in helping staff throughout the year as the need for CPR certification has popped up! She has never complained and always has a positive spirit! Alyson is a great resource of knowledge and very helpful to anyone that needs it!
Thank you Alyson, for your willingness to help staff navigate something new, even in different roles than your own. Your bright and positive attitude is appreciated greatly!"

❤️ BES, BMS and BHS Student Councils came together to support a "Boxes of Love" project to support patients at Regions Hospital Burn Center. ❤️
This endeavor was part of a National Honor Society project by Alli, a Chi-High senior, in honor and memory of Bloomer resident, Karla Rothbauer. Karla's daughter, Mikki, is a Burn Trauma Psychotherapist in the Regions Burn Center.
Boxes of Love are care boxes filled with intentional items curated in collaboration with Regions. The boxes will provide comfort and support to adult and pediatric burn survivors during their recovery and healing process.
The boxes were assembled at a Winter Retreat on January 4, alongside burn survivors and their families and will be donated to current and future inpatient burn survivors.
A parent of a brave burn survivor shared at the retreat, "Today we are reminded there is more good than anything else." 🥰 It was an honor and a privilege to be a part of this project and to celebrate the strength, courage, bravery and resilience of these patients.
Bloomer Student Council groups are thankful for this opportunity to be a part of something greater! #blackhawkstrong #bloomerhawks #spreadkindness
