6th graders recently created a container that could keep an egg safe when dropped from various heights.
They created the container in the morning with a partner and then they headed to Hoffman Hills in the afternoon to test their projects. Many containers made it through all three rounds. It was a great day!

Our 2nd and 4th graders put their engineering skills to work with a Pumpkin Catapult STEM Challenge in the library! Their mission: launch a pumpkin and land it on a target. 🎯
Students worked together to predict, launch, observe, and adjust—then try again! Each attempt was a chance to solve problems, test ideas, and discover that there’s more than one way to tackle a challenge.
Lots of teamwork, curiosity, and pumpkin-launching fun! 🧡🖤

Jackie is a part of our CTE department, an advisor to our FFA organization, and a member of our Academic Success team. One of the things that I appreciate most about Mrs. Johnson is the effort that she puts in to make sure that all students feel welcome and that they succeed.
Jackie not only makes sure that they succeed in her own classes but also that they have the ability to succeed in other classes too.
During our resource period Mrs. Johnson helps students study for other classes, provides check-ins for students, and has several peer tutors that help students. Thank you for all that you do for the students of BHS!"
