Inclement Weather School Closure Procedures

School District of Bloomer Inclement Weather Procedures

In the case of actual or predicted inclement weather, the School District of Bloomer will follow the procedures below for school closures:

Cancellation -- If we cancel, we will make this decision by 6:00 am. This means all Bloomer School District Schools, Early Childhood, 4K programs, after school programs, and public use of buildings are canceled for the day. The school district buildings are considered “CLOSED.” All teaching staff and paraprofessionals shall not report to school. For safety reasons Administrators, District Office, and Building Office Administrative Assistants have the option to work remotely.  Custodial Staff will report to work at the discretion of the Maintenance Supervisor. All after-school activities and practices will be canceled unless the Activities Director and District Administrator agree to hold events.  In these cases, all activities and varsity only practices shall be considered optional.  The Activities Director will be responsible for notifying key individuals.

Two Hour Delay -- While rare, there may be instances in which we delay the start of school by two hours.  If we delay, we will make this decision by 6:00 am. The school day starts two hours later than normally scheduled.

  • Buses will run two hours behind their normal schedule.

  • Lunch will be served at or near the normally scheduled time.

Early Release -- If we release early, we will make this decision by 10:30 am.

  • Lunch is at or near the normally scheduled time.

  • Staff will be dismissed after all students are dismissed except for the following staff.

    • Administrators, District Office, and Building Office Administrative Assistants have the option to work remotely.

    • Custodial Staff (dismissed at the discretion of the Maintenance Supervisor)

All after school programming and public use of buildings is canceled. The Activities Director will be responsible for notifying key individuals.

Communication -- We plan to communicate any weather-related decisions to you in the following ways:
