High School Science Teacher
Phone: Ext 4323
Welcome to my website! I began teaching science at Bloomer High School in 2006. The classes I have taught include Science 9 (general physical and earth/space science), General Biology, Chemistry I, and Environmental Science. In 2001, I earned a B.S. in Biology with a minor in pre-professional health science from UWEC. After exploring several career options and substitute teaching, I decided to go back to school in 2004 for my teaching certification. In 2006, I earned my broadfield science and biology certifcations to teach grades 6-12. Since then I have also received a M.A. in Educational Leadership and Collaborative Learning. I love teaching science and am continually seeking opportunities to learn more about current science and about the most effective teaching methods. I want my students to leave my classes with a firm understanding of the key scientific concepts and to be inspired to learn more.
When I am not teaching I am spending time with my husband and two daughters. We love to spend time outdoors camping, swimming, boating, biking, and playing with all our pets. Our pets include 1 golden retriever, 2 cats, and a bearded dragon. My other hobbies include reading and singing at church or for weddings.
I am so very thankful to teach in a school/community like Bloomer that lists youth and education as some of their top priorities. I look forward to being apart of this community for many years to come and to continue to do my part to help it's young people become successful, happy adults.
